Although Indian systems of Medicine is highly effective and have no side effect. Yet the common people do not use it because of the lack of awareness about its positive aspects, specially the high efficacy, no side effect and preventive nature. It is mainly used either by the educated people of the society or by the most traditional families and the tribal. In fact, Ayurveda believes in keeping a person healthy not by using the medicine only but by his changed life style, balanced diet and positive mental thoughts. Ayurvedic system of medicine treats both, the man and its environment simultaneously, which is an important factor to maintain the health.

Thus keeping in view the limited acceptability of Indian System of medicine in the society, it seems important to propagate the benefit of these medicines specially its cost-effective ness, easy availability and efficacy without side effect. It is also important to propagate the use of non-pharmacological therapies of Ayurveda for different ailments such as punchakarma therapy, yogic practices, khar sutra therapy etc.

Prof. S.N. Tripathi Memorial Foundation has the similar objectives and working in the field of health awareness (Appendix-1) since its inception that is 1992. It has carried out several health camps, seminars, Exhibition & popular lectures and meetings (Appendix-2). The proposed project will be carried out in Varanasi and Chakia Districts, in collaboration with the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, State Ayurvedic college, Sanskrit University, District hospitals & Dispensers of Allopathy, Ayurveda etc. Private practitioners and members of Varanasi IMA has also agreed to support in this mission.
